Speaking for Your Work: Public Speaking & Presentation Workshop for Visual Artists

Talking about one’s own work is sometimes impossible if the work comes from a place of non-language. That’s why it’s visual and not linguistic.

Even the most incisive, prolific, gifted artist can feel unduly daunted by the dreaded “Talk.” That request to speak on demand about your work, be it for a large audience as part of an event, or a one-on-one with a dealer or critic in their studio.

This workshop explores the foundational tools for speaking about your work with greater ease, confidence and clarity. We will explore the process of crafting a presentation, including drafting your thoughts, managing nerves, delivery and handling Q&A.

Before the workshop, participants will have a chance to answer a brief questionnaire in order to focus on your particular areas of interest or concern.
